Francis Tan

Chief Strategist Asia, Indosuez Wealth Management

Francis Tan is the Chief Strategist, Asia, at Indosuez Wealth Management. Francis joined Indosuez in July 2024 after a distinguished career across both public and private sectors. Representing the Indosuez Global CIO office in Asia, Francis is responsible for formulating and articulating Indosuez’s Global Investment Strategies in Asia, and translating them into actionable portfolio construction solutions for clients. Prior to his role at Indosuez, Francis was at United Overseas Bank for 12 years, first serving as Asian Economist within the Global Economics & Markets Research Team, before being appointed Investment Strategist at UOB Private Bank, where he worked on the investment strategy across multi-asset classes, while supporting in both the advisory and discretionary segments of the private bank. Francis started his career with the Singapore Tourism Board, where he specialised in tourism economics. He subsequently served as Investment Manager in the wealth management arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland and Investment Strategist at Phillip Capital, where he led the development of portfolio allocation strategies for clients based on their risk-return preferences and mutual fund analyses.

Dr. Nadir Zafar

Chief Experience Officer (CXO), Human Capital Leadership Institute; Director, Singapore Leaders Network

Dr. Nadir Ali Zafar is Chief Experience Officer (CXO) of the Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI) and concurrently Director of the Singapore Leaders Network, a national movement managed by HCLI and supported by EDB. He joins HCLI from UAE-based education technology company Alef Education where he was Chief Operating Officer. During his time, the company grew from a start-up to an award-winning organisation that serves several hundred thousand students.Nadir was one of the founding leaders of Alef Education and set up and oversaw the marketing, finance, human resources, legal, audit, procurement, and business support departments. He also spearheaded the company’s expansion into Asia, set up a healthcare program, and launched a new schools management business that was spun off into an independent entity.Nadir’s experience spans over 20 years. Prior to Alef Education, he was at GEMS Education, where he reported directly to the Group CEO and served on the senior leadership team. He was then posted to Singapore as Director of Corporate Development, leading admissions and marketing for their Singapore school. In previous roles, Nadir has worked closely with the CEO of one of the largest shipping companies in the world and the CEO of one of the Middle East region’s largest media companies. Nadir has worked in UAE, India, Thailand, and Singapore.Nadir graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing) from the pioneer batch of the Singapore Management University and holds an MBA from INSEAD. He has also completed a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation at New York University. His past and current leadership experience extends to serving on the Board of a London-listed global education company, President of the Singapore Business Council in UAE, alumni leader for both his alma maters, and founder of an EdTech venture.

Sum Yee Loong

CA (Singapore); Chairman, Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals; Professor of Accounting (Practice), Singapore Management University

Mr. Sum Yee Loong has specialised in taxation since qualifying as an accountant in the UK. He has over 25 years of experience in Singapore taxation.  Mr. Sum has substantial experience serving multi-national companies and local corporate clients including financial institutions, providing advisory tax services to these corporate clients. His specialties include corporate structuring & restructuring, restructuring for IPO, acquisition & mergers and international tax planning. He is active in providing strategies and leading tax review teams to create and identify tax saving opportunities for both corporate and individual clients. He also advises and provides tax opinions on cross-border transactions and structured finance.  Mr. Sum is also active in advising and negotiating for tax incentives for various corporate clients. Mr. Sum had been nominated on several occasions as one of the top 10 leading Tax Advisers in Singapore by International Tax Review. He is also featured as one of the World’s Leading Tax Advisers in the Legal Media Group 2011 Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisers  Mr. Sum was Associate Professor (Adjunct) at Nanyang Technological University lecturing Taxation to undergraduates and Advance Taxation to post-graduate students till 2003.  He was examiner for the Advance Taxation Paper (Singapore Variant) of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (UK) from 1997 to 2007. He was also previously examiner for the Taxation Paper (Singapore Law) for the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants and Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Jeannie Lim

Assistant Managing Director, Services & Growth Enterprises, Enterprise Singapore

Ms Jeannie Lim assumed the position of Assistant Chief Executive, Policy and Planning Group on 11 March 2019. In her current role, Jeannie leads policy and strategy matters across STB, supporting research and data-driven decision-making. She also drives industry development and regulatory efforts for core tourism industries such as hotels, cruise, travel agent and tourist guides, sectoral manpower development strategies, as well as infrastructure planning and management of key tourism assets.Prior to her current role, Jeannie led the Conventions, Meetings & Incentive Travel division of the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau. In this role, she was responsible for attracting quality association congresses and corporate-driven events to Singapore and ensuring Singapore’s competitive positioning as a Top International Convention and Meetings City. She also champions the development of the local industry to strengthen Singapore’s position as a business events destination.Jeannie was also concurrently Executive Director of the Exhibition & Conference Division from 2011 to 2013. Prior to this role, she served as Director, Tourism Concept Development where she oversaw the master planning of new tourism zones such as Mandai and Jurong Lake, to ensure a steady pipeline of tourism developments. In this role, she was also co-chair of the Tourism Work Group under the Iskandar Malaysia Joint Ministerial Committee.Over her 14 years with the Board, Jeannie has overseen key strategic tourism projects such as the opening of the Singapore Flyer, the development of River Safari, and the conceptualisation of the Hotel Industry Productivity Roadmap.Jeannie graduated from The University of Sydney in 1998 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (First Class Honours), and holds a Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University/ Nanyang Technological University (2007).
